In the alchemy of fire comes the fusion of sand, ash, and limestone that is glass. Transparent yet reflective, hard yet brittle,
heavy yet seemingly weightless, this paradox has long proved fascinating. There is poetry in glass found in no other material.
In physical movement, changes in light, and variations in surfaces lie the transcendent magic of glass.
The counterpoint of glass ans steel creates its own rhythm, a medley of materials harmonizing in apparent contrasts, transparent
and opaque, fragile and strong. By adding additional materials, I strive to capture the energy, the spark which marks the balance
of our vision.
I have created three different series based on this, and invite you to discover them. For a very different approach to the use of
art glass sculpture, see where light has taken me in my light paintings and
light sculpture.
